New Wine Is Better Than New Age
Never Settle for a Copy, When You Can Have the Kingdom!
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand, Ephesians 6:13
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) - 2 Corinthians 10:4
Why are some more comfortable…
Why are some more comfortable charging crystals than seeking the power of the Holy Spirit? If you manifest through "the universe," have you unknowingly replaced the Creator with His creation? How did burning sage become more accepted in homes than reading Scripture out loud? Are you following ancestral practices out of cultural pride, or are you ignoring the call to be set apart? Why meditate to clear the mind, yet avoid prayer that renews the mind? Are you calling things "energy" because we’re too afraid to admit they might be demonic? Would Jesus feel at home in the spiritual spaces created, or would He flip the tables?
Sometimes people wonder why they can’t seem to move forward spiritually or in life. The reason may be a willful or even an unintentional connection to something that is not of God. It’s time to examine yourself honestly. Are you following Jesus in purity, or are you mixing His truth with other methods and calling it faith?
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. -Hebrews 4:12
Hebrews 4:12 reveals the supernatural power of God's Word to cut through every layer of human life. It addresses not only outward behavior, but also the deepest inner thoughts, motives, and spiritual realities. The soul is the seat of the mind, will, and emotions. It includes personality, reasoning, feelings, and desires, and it relates to the world and to others. This is why, as a believer, the Word of God tells us in Philippians 2:5, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus."
Careful study of this verse also demonstrates how religious activity without true relationship can still be iniquity in God's eyes. It stems from a heart that willfully chooses rebellion against God's ways. God's ways are His divine principles, character, and path for living; they reflect His holiness, truth, and love. These ways are not just rules, but the essence of who God is and how He calls us to walk in relationship with Him.
The spirit is the eternal, God-conscious part of a person. It is where the Holy Spirit dwells when someone is born again, and it is what enables true communion with God. When the Word pierces between soul and spirit, it reveals the difference between what is driven by human nature and what is led by God. It helps believers discern whether their choices and motives come from emotion, logic, or the Spirit of God. This is why the Word is not just information; it is transformation.
For us as believers, the difference between soul and spirit rests in the ability to take on the mind of Christ, keeping both the soul and the Holy Spirit in sync with one another. For the non-believer, the difference between soul and spirit is detrimental. Anything used for spiritual guidance or power outside of the Holy Spirit is not of God, it is demonic. Whether it appears as an ancient remedy or a modern wellness trend, these practices are open doors for demonic influence to enter and control your life. Do not be deceived; avoid these things completely.
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles…
Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God, Leviticus 19:31.
He told them this parable: “No one tears a piece out of a new garment to patch an old one. Otherwise, they will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins, Luke 5:36-38.
Jesus is illustrating that the new life, power, and truth He brings cannot be mixed with old religious systems, traditions, or worldly mindsets. Just as new wine would burst old wineskins due to its fermentation, the Gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit cannot be contained within rigid, outdated structures or hearts that refuse to be transformed. To receive the fullness of what God is doing, we must become like new wineskins—willing to be made new, open to change, and fully surrendered to His way. Jesus did not come to patch up the old but to make all things new.
The danger of the New Age…
As a believer, it is critical to discern between truth and deception, especially in a time when spiritual counterfeits are more common and culturally accepted than ever. Many practices may appear harmless, peaceful, or even spiritual, yet they are rooted in darkness and draw the heart away from the truth of God’s Word. The enemy is subtle and deceptive, disguising himself as truth to lure many into error. The Bible warns us clearly: “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:13–14, KJV). Without knowing the real voice and character of God, many fall for imitations. That is why we are called to test the spirits and know the truth, so we are not led by emotion, culture, or tradition but by the Spirit of God.
True life begins when we know Jesus, not as an idea or religious symbol, but as the living Savior who came to restore us back to the image and likeness of God. You were never meant to wander through confusion or chase spiritual trends. You were created to walk in relationship with your Creator. The Bible says, “And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him” (Colossians 3:10, KJV). In Christ, you become a new creation, no longer led by the world but formed by His Spirit. His plan is not just to save you; it is to transform you and empower you to live in truth, love, and purpose. To walk with Jesus is to walk in light and in the full identity He designed just for you.
If you've never been taught the truth, you may not know you're walking in deception…
If you've never been taught the truth, you may not know you're walking in deception — but God, in His mercy, still draws every heart toward Himself. The Bible says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6, KJV), which means ignorance can lead to spiritual ruin. Yet God also promises, “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13, KJV); when you sincerely seek Him, He reveals Himself — even if no one has shown you the way.
According to the Collins English Dictionary New Age spirituality is described as a contemporary cultural movement characterized by a concern with spiritual consciousness and variously combining beliefin reincarnation and astrology with such practices as meditation, vegetarianism, and holistic medicine.
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved, Luke 5:37-38.
Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God, Leviticus 19:31.
Who changed the truth of God into a lie…
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen, Romans 1:25.
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word, Psalm 119:9.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ, Colossians 2:8.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light, 1 Peter 2:9.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God, Romans 12:2.
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter, Isaiah 5:20.
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, Matthew 21:12.
We are created in the image and likeness of God, meaning we carry a divine imprint that no crystal, card, ritual, or cosmic practice can enhance or replace. God formed us with intentional design, breathed His Spirit into us, and gave us purpose through relationship with Him, not through man-made methods or mystical energy. Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." This truth confirms that we lack nothing in Him; we do not need to awaken chakras, burn sage, or consult horoscopes to discover our identity or destiny. In Christ, we are complete. The Holy Spirit is our guide, our comforter, and our power. Anything outside of that is a counterfeit offering less than what God already freely gives to those who seek Him with their whole heart.
